Life Update: New Business Owner

Hello, my fellow blogger friends!! (check out

It has been a long hot MINUTE since I have blogged and updated you all on my life. I really have no excuse for my lack of posting, I have just been rebranding, figuring out my life and where I want this blog to go.

Having a blog is such an escape. As someone who loves social media, it can be very overwhelming at times. While running my personal Instagram and Social Media accounts, I find myself feeling very overwhelmed and unimportant at times. However, the great thing about having a blog is that I feel like I can be 100% me. And there is nothing that I love more than that.

So, friends, let me give you an update on all that has happened in my life.

1. Moved back home.

I don’t know what it is about home, but home seems to always be a healing place for me. A place to rejuvenate, to remember who I really am and what my goals are in life. I had hit a time in my life where I realized I needed true change. I had fallen a bit, needed to get back up and through much prayer and meditation, I felt strongly that moving home was what I need to do. As someone who strongly believes in education, I was a little scared about what to do but I was very blessed and found a way to complete my schooling online. YAY!!

2. Fell in love.

I had always thought that true love was something that happened to everyone… except for me. Not to sound “basic” or anything, but I just never had luck in the whole “love” department. Just when I was finally getting content with the idea of never finding love…it happened. And man, it really happened. Just after moving home for a month, I found the love of my life. I wouldn’t say that I am a believer in love at first sight, but let me tell you…one look at him, one conversation and I just KNEW. But…that’s a story for another day ūüėČ

3. Bought my own business

Never in my life did I think that I could say that I bought/own my own business at the age of 22. This seriously is a blessing from God himself. There is this online store that I fell in love with the moment I discovered it. This company is called Winsome Jones. It is really hard for me to find clothes that I really like that I feel fit my style and needs. The great thing is that Winsome Jones has always done that for me. After being a customer for years, I had the wonderful opportunity to take over the company and run it on my own. It is all very exciting but SO very hard. Running and starting a business has got to be one of the hardest things to do. I don’t think there is a day that has gone by since we re-launched that I haven’t cried from happiness or stress. This experience is definitely stretching me in ways that I never thought possible. Heres a look at some of the things we sell:

Going Gluten-Free Got Rid of My Migraines‚Äč For Good

Going Gluten-Free Got Rid of My Migraines‚Äč For Good

For those of you who follow me on Facebook or even are in constant communication with me, you would know that I get an excessive amount of migraines. In fact, I was getting migraines about three to four times a week to be exact.

It was exhausting, frustrating and just straight up annoying.

I started asking everyone I knew and even went to my Facebook friends to see if they had any advice for getting rid of migraines. Everyone was so helpful and gave me all the resources and help I needed. Along with their advice and research, I started to do my own. With this research, I found that a side effect of someone with a gluten intolerance is constant migraines.

Now, before these migraines¬†started occurring, I have had years and years of stomach problems. After every meal, my stomach would hurt and I was always in pain. The doctor had taken me off of gluten once before, but that was years ago when being gluten-free was weird and the food was NASTY. So my gluten-free diet didn’t last long at all.

Despite my awful past experience with being gluten-free, I decided to give it a try once again. I was so desperate at this point what I was willing to try anything. Like let me tell you, I was about to go get botox that’s now awful my migraines were.

So I went to my pantry and tossed out everything that contained gluten, went to the store and bought all the gluten and dairy-free foods that I could. Was it expensive? Heck yes!! Did it help? OHHH HECK YESS!!

My first-week being gluten and dairy-free I did not have one migraine!! It’s been about a month now of being strict with my diet and I have only had one headache since I decided to go gluten and dairy-free.

The amazing thing too, is that my stomach no longer hurts, I’m not getting migraines anymore, I have SOOO MUCH ENERGY, my stubborn acne has started to go away and I no longer am feeling tired and groggy.

I will forever swear on my gluten and dairy-free diet. And surprisingly, I have found that gluten-free vegan foods are actually SO GOOD (now). So thank you to all the gluten-free, dairy-free companies out there that have (finally) learned how to make good food for people like me ūüėČ

I’m more obsessed with High School Musical than I should be.¬†

I love the feeling I get when I complete a puzzle or win a game of scrabble.

I have never ever lost at a game of monopoly. No joke.

Golden doodles are my weakness.

Butterfinger’s are also a weakness of mine.¬†

I can fall asleep anywhere at anytime and if you don’t believe me just ask my friends.¬†

I nap and eat fast food way more than I probably should.

One of my biggest fears is hitting an animal while driving.

My number one dream is to go to Africa.

Long drives with good music and good people make me happier than anything.
