Life Update: New Business Owner

Hello, my fellow blogger friends!! (check out

It has been a long hot MINUTE since I have blogged and updated you all on my life. I really have no excuse for my lack of posting, I have just been rebranding, figuring out my life and where I want this blog to go.

Having a blog is such an escape. As someone who loves social media, it can be very overwhelming at times. While running my personal Instagram and Social Media accounts, I find myself feeling very overwhelmed and unimportant at times. However, the great thing about having a blog is that I feel like I can be 100% me. And there is nothing that I love more than that.

So, friends, let me give you an update on all that has happened in my life.

1. Moved back home.

I don’t know what it is about home, but home seems to always be a healing place for me. A place to rejuvenate, to remember who I really am and what my goals are in life. I had hit a time in my life where I realized I needed true change. I had fallen a bit, needed to get back up and through much prayer and meditation, I felt strongly that moving home was what I need to do. As someone who strongly believes in education, I was a little scared about what to do but I was very blessed and found a way to complete my schooling online. YAY!!

2. Fell in love.

I had always thought that true love was something that happened to everyone… except for me. Not to sound “basic” or anything, but I just never had luck in the whole “love” department. Just when I was finally getting content with the idea of never finding love…it happened. And man, it really happened. Just after moving home for a month, I found the love of my life. I wouldn’t say that I am a believer in love at first sight, but let me tell you…one look at him, one conversation and I just KNEW. But…that’s a story for another day 😉

3. Bought my own business

Never in my life did I think that I could say that I bought/own my own business at the age of 22. This seriously is a blessing from God himself. There is this online store that I fell in love with the moment I discovered it. This company is called Winsome Jones. It is really hard for me to find clothes that I really like that I feel fit my style and needs. The great thing is that Winsome Jones has always done that for me. After being a customer for years, I had the wonderful opportunity to take over the company and run it on my own. It is all very exciting but SO very hard. Running and starting a business has got to be one of the hardest things to do. I don’t think there is a day that has gone by since we re-launched that I haven’t cried from happiness or stress. This experience is definitely stretching me in ways that I never thought possible. Heres a look at some of the things we sell:

There is a quote I once read that said…

“Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life”

A New Year means new resolutions, goals, memories, trials, successes, failures and much much more. Many people have even given up on the idea of making New Years Resolutions. Although, I’m pretty guilty of doing the same thing…I decided to try something new this year.

Setting goals is an important part of life. Goals help us reach our potential, try new things, and even discover new talents.  The greatest feeling is being able to say that you accomplished a goal that you set.

So for the year of 2018, I decided to veer from that long list of New Years Resolutions and try something a little different. It’s still a way to set goals, however, it’s more of a plan of where you want to be by the end of 2018. This makes it more realistic, and easier to actually accomplish.
